Team 9 - Rob Davies

Rob joined the Battalion in 1985 and served in Northern  Ireland, Belize, Canada and a few other places until 1997. He says ‘I absolutely loved my  time in the Regiment and really enjoy getting involved with all  things to do with the Welsh Guards, so when the message came to me that Walk on Wales was looking for someone to lead a team from Freshwater West to Burry Port, I jumped at the chance.”

To quote Rob he is "the slim good looking one pictured second from left

Rob thought he would have problems finding three others to join the team in a little place like Pembrokeshire, but he was wrong, within three hours and having only sent four messages he had his team: CSgt John Turner (JT) who is currently still serving and is posted in Brecon, Billy Shaw, who is a Biomedical Scientist at Withybush Hospital in Haverfordwest who served 24 years in the RAMC, and Dennis O'Connor, who was in the TA for seven years and is the coordinator for the national coastguard SOS campaign.

Rob added “These are two fantastic Charities and we are honoured to be a part of it, I am sure that what will keep us all motivated is knowing what its all for.”

Rob is currently running his own double glazing business in Letterston Pembrokeshire and is the Secretary for the Pembrokeshire Branch =of the Welsh Guards Association,
